Abstract

The lyrics stand for the historical aesthetics from its birth, and have plenty of social meaning. In ancient times, the poem, the music and the dancing existed in a same body of Integrated Art, from which the ancient men expressed their understanding towards the realistic labor activities, their thinking of collectives and their emotional release. Poem is the uterus of lyrics, standing for the freshest expression of men’s feeling. In the recent 100 years, the style of literature underwent subtle evolvement, and the lyrics have become a branch of poem, however, the status of the lyrics has been an awkward position and the lyrics’ nature of literature and art has different levels. Whatsoever, the lyrics being a style of art, have the literature nature and commercial use, giving us the space of discussionThe paper’s analysis towards the lyrics of Lo Ta Yu, assures of his deep culture contents and humanity spirit, and searches for how to dig the social value out of it. In the first part of this paper, it analyses the story of Lo Ta Yu and his different creation phases, his lyrics’ culture contents and formalistic aesthetics, the creation periods’ political background, including the development of interactive economics and culture in mainland and Taiwan, which influences his creation, giving the concrete feeling of the sub-culture youth collectives and the existence of collectives information. The psychological emotion of his creation was evolving during the creation practices, appearing as a Tower Shape, from the cynical situation to the culture fighter of reformism. The second part mainly investigates the needs of aesthetics and consume psychology, assuring of the lyrics’ literature and commercial position, proofing the performance of lyrics’ popularity, putting forward that the different levels of lyrics attributes to the personal talents of creation, and not to the assessment of its literature position. At the same time I don’t suggest that due to the marriage of literature and commercial, we consistently should suspect on its commercial factor. The commercializing of lyrics reflects the description of the author’s career and existence of lyrical arts. The third part is the analysis towards his lyrics’commercial value.It is hard to identify the literature position together with the commercial factor. Currently, the creation of pop music appears as noisy and flourishing, however, the creation of lyrics appears as different levels. The creation of lyrics is the basis of music, however, it can not be considered as an elegant form of arts. The elegant arts became the popularity nowadays with the commercialization. Whatsoever, there is no concise definition whether the lyrics belong to the elegant culture or vulgar culture. We must take notice the folk culture between the elegant and vulgar culture, and pay attention to the different levels of men’s aesthetics and evaluation which directly influences the understanding and expression of the lyrics contents. The culture interactive, conflict and convergence in the global context, the nationality of culture is the main part of global culture, and the main factor which makes the national culture exist and multiply, the lyrics rooted in the folk culture, have some meaningful function towards the investigation of origination and commercializing of lyrics.According to the analysis towards the communication of lyrics with commercial, we can watch Lo’s music work from multiple perspectives, analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of his works’marketing project. It is about how to make the lyrics as special culture and spiritual works satisfy men’s spiritual aesthetic needs while maximizing the interests, which is to make harmoniously the economics and social interests together. Therefore, the paper considers the Lo’s lyrics as a perfect case which has typical culture meaning undoubtedly.In a word, this paper plans to solve two different problems:firstly, I can go through the culture and social characters of lyrics and dig out the lyrics’literature status, predicting the tendency of its development. Secondly, from the aesthetics perspectives and multiple explanation of Lo Ta Yu Phenomenon, I can indicate the inner mechanism of his lyrics’ literature and commercial value, and the lyrics’ industrial form in the commercial society as a part of pop culture, and the influence towards the pop aesthetics situation.
