Since reform and opening, as China’s industrialization and urbanization process accelerated, large-scale rural labor to urban, rural society in our country there is a unique group of women left behind. This special group, in the farm fields independently at the same time, we need to do some small business, doing odd jobs, running businesses, become a force for economic development in rural areas; the other hand, almost all of the responsibility to take care of family pressure on their shoulders has become the family "backbone." The large social groups in the country of as many as 4,000 people to 5,000 people, in the maintenance of social harmony and stability in rural areas play a pivotal role. With the development of society, rural women have gained more and more equal opportunities to compete and display their talent and potential of the stage. The traditional "men outside the women inside," "male superiority" concept is being "gender equality" is replaced by the concept. They no longer a purely housewife, can also be the cause of the strong, the concept of change as women, of them more and more people realize that women must be self-development, self-improvement, outside the home, to the community.This article first reviews the status of rural women left behind on the basis of stay in China on women’s issues in the measures taken are summarized. Combined with international and relevant national, regional study of rural women, the correct assessment of the role of rural women left behind. Secondly, in the less developed regions of the rural women left behind on the basis of the Yancheng City, for example, based on survey data collected, analyzed the phenomenon of less developed regions the causes of women left behind, the main performance and consequences.
