Abstract


John Mill is a milestone in the history of the development of Western liberalism - figure, not only inherited his thoughts beyond the classical liberal tradition , he became Western classical liberalism to the the neoliberal transition process in the past and a important thinkers. Studying Mill 's thinking , to help young people have a correct understanding of the meaning of freedom and the rights of a correct understanding of the value and meaning of life . Mill's idea of freedom for our correct understanding and awareness of the freedom of press and publication also has a sense of inspiration and reference . Mill think that freedom of thought and speech , and will promote the development of ideas and culture as well as the overall progress of society . However, stressed that the right to freedom of the press , does not mean absolute freedom to pursue no limit . A survival of social health , cohesion and development need to have a basic understand and agree with the majority of the members of society , beliefs , norms and specifications . Starting from the position and views of Marxism , in-depth and comprehensive study , understanding and presentation of Mill 's thought, educate and guide the younger generation a correct understanding of the ideological diversification and insist on the dialectical relationship between Marxism as the guiding ideology , will be a very meaningful things . In this paper, Mill writings about the liberal point of view is based on review of Mill liberal ideas generated by social background and theoretical origins , explained the main content of the Mill 's liberal view , the analysis of liberal ideas of Mill historical limitations from the dialectical relationship between individual freedom and social control , as well as freedom of thought and expression , and pointed out that the revelation of the aspects of today 's pluralistic society thought with the unification of lead as well as the freedom of press and publication .
