Abstract

High-entropy alloy, firstly put forward by Ye Jun-wei, a Taiwan scholar, is a brand new kind of alloy system developed from the traditional alloy design framework, to some extent, it is a breakthrough of the traditional alloy design concept. Owing to the high-entropy effect, it is easy for alloy to get simple crystal structure such as FCC、BCC etc. Meanwhile, a little intermetallic compound and Nan crystalline are come into being during the process because of the different ratio of alloying elements, which makes the great improvement of high-entropy alloy in properties, even being superior to traditional alloys. This paper picks Al、Co、Gr、Ti、Ni、Cu six commonly used metals, by changing the relative percentage content of Cu in the series to study AlCoCrTiNiCu_x high-entropy alloy’s microstructure and properties, including metallographic structure, microstructure, Vickers hardness, resistance to pressure, resistance to corrosion, analyzing compression fracture and so on. The results of study show that:By analyzing the simple phase of AlCoCrTiNiCu_x high-entropy alloys can we know that the structure is changed along with the increase of Cu content, which is ranged from FCC(primary)+BCC (X=0.5、X=0.8) to FCC+BCC+Primary lattice (X=1.0、X=1.2) and become to BCC+Primary lattice at the end (X=1.5). The hardness is between 401HV-559HV for the five groups of alloys. The bend-intensity and stress-intensity of alloys are respectively between 1198MPa-1658MPa and 1252MPa-1862MPa. The fracture mode is developing from ductile fracture (X=0.5 and X=0.8) to quasi-cleavage fracture (X=1.0、X=1.2 and X=1.5). Resistant corrosion of alloys in the corrosive liquid is increased along with lower Cu content, as the alloys of X=0.5 is best and the X=1.5 is worst.AlCoCrTiNiCu_x high-entropy alloy, with good comprehensive properties, is superior to traditional alloys. After further study it can well adapt to and meet the requirement of industrial production.
