Abstract

With the growing popularity of China’s education,A lot of people can enjoy the educational opportunities。However, higher education, especially professional knowledge and skills education, continues to show the problem of uneven distribution of educational resources and the excessively high costs of education.Therefore, people hope to alleviate the problem through distance education.The continuous developments of Internet technology provide the possibility of practical application of distance education.Distance education, once introduced to a very wide range of achievements made. But still there are many problems exist in the the distance education platform,especially in the most important part of distance learning-the multimedia courseware for distance learning is not good enough, and the production process is very complicated.This article which used the Advanced Information Engineering of Henan Province(Universal Remote Multimedia Courseware Making Platform and the project number is:2008xxh010)as the basis,does the main research in the following areas:1.Research on the Distance Multimedia Education Software PlatformWe design the Distance Education Platform especially the part of Courseware Platform using the AJAX technology combines with the XML technology.with the full use of AJAX technology whose characteristic is asynchronous access control without refreshing the pages,we achieve a platform which can interaction with the user rapidly.2.The Research in the platform of Courseware using XML technology and AJAX technologyIn general courseware module, the platform develops a courseware template middleware to ease the completion of the courseware modules with help of XML technology whose data can seamlessly across platforms and AJAX technology. The application layer of the platform is transparent for the underlying OS and hardware replacement as the middleware’s own merits, which is not only effective in achieving common courseware platform,but also provides a good scalability in upgrading the platform for the future management.3.Research on Video on-demand PlatformIn the module of play for courseware, this paper, after analyzed the shortcomings which existing in the traditional distance education platform,proposed two ideas to improve the access performance of the corresponding module, one of them is the use of the index-based video storage technology and the other is intelligent streaming video buffering server design.After testing and identification of the project, the multimedia courseware platform can meet the requirements in the beginning of the design, it has the advantages of interactive obviously compared with the traditional platform, and the system has good stability and robustness.
