21st Century is an era of aging. Aging problem has become a worldwide social problem which limits the development of a lot of countries. However, this problem can’t be solved for many reasons, thus a large proportion of elder people live alone or lack of appropriate care. So it will be helpful and meaningful if there’s a safe and comfortable intelligent living environment, during which the elder people can use various service resources transparently.Along with the development of computer network, intelligent home, as the typical application of intelligent space, has gained its preliminary success. It can sense the user’s requirement according to the received physical context such as the user’s location, his physical signs and the environment status etc, then it provide the services and resources automatically. The sensation ability is realized through gain the low level context with sensors or other physical equipment. Then reasoning these contexts with rules or ontology methods, get the higher level semantic information of the user’s action or needs, respond to the user’s actions or needs and satisfies their needs with corresponding services or resources transparently.So it is meaningful to provide assistant services for solitary elders who have these kinds of typical problems using pervasive computing techniques. This paper designs four typical pervasive computing application scenarios according to the assistant requirements of the elders, then designs and implements related application system based on the improved system implementation framework.First of all, this paper introduces some related techniques on pervasive computing and OSGi. Based on the existing system model of pervasive computing and implementation framework, considering the complexity and frequent change possibilities, we propose some improvement design on the OSGi-based system framework through introducing a virtual device component. This improve framework screens the isomerism of different devices in this system.Then we design and implement a pervasive computing application system faced on elder care according to he designed application scenarios. This paper detailed describes and explains various kinds of components and its relations, collaborations and scenario realization processes.It is showed that the elder care assistant system designed and implemented by this paper makes full use of the advantages of pervasive computing, and it basically satisfies the factual requirements of basic care and assistant for the solitary elders.
