Abstract


The progress of the modern information based society is inseparable from the development of the mobile communication. The research on the characteristics of mobile channel is extremely important to the mobile communication network planning and optimization. The performance of the mobile communication system is seriously influenced by the characteristics of the wireless channel. Consequently, they become the fundamental of the mobile communication research.The project that we worked on is a pre-research project which is called The Study on the Radio Wave Propagation Characteristic in Specifically Area. In this paper the characteristics of the radio wave propagation in city environment is mainly discussed. This paper firstly introduced the basic concept of the mobile wireless channel, and then made some explanation about the relative knowledge of the large-scale propagation model, which is an empirical model. Making use of C++Builder and Mapobjects, the geography information system (GIS) about city environment are established here. Then channel models library which is developed on the Borland C++ Builder 6.0 is introduced. Based on this system, the coverage analysis of single base station and multiple base stations and the disturbance analysis are accomplished. The coverage design of Cellular telecommunication system is completed by using the PaintBox which is a control of C++Builder. Finally, the performance analysis of the channel models which fit the city environment and the comparison among these models are stated in this paper.
