Abstract


Financial development plays an active role in the growth of economy. In the underdeveloped regions, giving priority to the development of financial industry could optimize the allocation of resources, guide the rational flow of funds, human resources and goods, promote technical advance and industrial upgrade, and finally speed up economy increasing. For several reasons, Nanchang faces the slowness of the economic development. Developing financial industry can greatly spur Nanchang economic growth. Based on the background above, this article analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of financial industry in Nanchang, points out the opportunities and challenges for the development of financial industry in Nanchang, and tries to present appropriate developing strategy and measures. The aim of this research is to provide an alternatives plan to the local government to find an optimal way to develop Nanchang financial industry.The article focuses on the development of Nanchang financial industry, collecting data and documents of finance and economy of Nanchang since Reformation and Opening as well as financial development data of capital city in central region, considering the current economic situation and trend, using SWOT analysis, and researches on how to prompt Nanchang financial industry. The paper is divided into four parts:the first part analyzes the current situations of Nanchang financial industry and points out that the obscre orientation in finance development, unbalanced structure in financial industry, un-ideal arrangement of direct financing, irrational spatial pattern of financial industry and lacking coherent management in financial industry are the existing problems. The second part compares the level of Nanchang financial industry with other capital city in the central region, and finds that the good performance of economy, high growth of financial deepening, unique regional predominance, intensity support from the local government and strong competition of city commercial bank are the strengths for Nanchang financial industry, meanwhile the level of financial industry development, the scale of the credit funds and the development of local financial institutions are relatively backward. The third part considering the current situation of the economy and relevant policy to analyze the external environment about the development of Nanchang financial industry, takes the strategy of central rise, the construction of Poyang Lake ecological economy zone, the transfer of industries from the coast to the central region and the reform of the financial system as the opportunities of Nanchang financial industry. On the other hand, the financial risks caused by recession, stringent monetary policy and the finance development of other capital city in central region will become threats to the development of financial industry in Nanchang. Based on the analysis above, the finally part put forward the strategic concept for developing Nanchang financial industry.Based on the SWOT analysis, the article draws the strategy choice matrix, and points out that the following measures can be practiced in order to prompt the development of Nanchang financial industry, namely giving priority to the financial industry, further speed up and deepen financial reform, extend the scope of financial opening, strengthen cooperation in regional financial field, promoting local financial institutions, encouraging financial innovation, recruiting and reserving financial talents and act.
