Abstract


At present, in many developing countries the processing trade has become one of the most direct and important methods to participate in international division of labor and involved in international large-scale production. Since 1978, China implemented reform and opening up, the processing trade in China began to take root growth, from 1996 to date, import and export of processing trade accounted for the share of total national imports and exports has remained at about 50%, as for our national economy, it has maken a great contribution. However, in Xinjiang’s exports and imports of processing trade accounts for only about 3% of Xinjiang’s total import and export, this is not only a great gap between China’s overall foreign trade structure, but also severely limits the Xinjiang region’s economic growth. Therefore, this article is about how to develop the processing trade in Xinjiang.Firstly this article produced for the processing trade and its implications for the role of developed and developing countries. From the processing trade in China’s development process, leads to the characteristics of China’s processing trade. Take a theoretical and empirical point of view, analyze the importance that the processing trade in China’s foreign trade and the contribution to China’s national economic growth, while upgrading the processing trade of China’s industrial structure adjustment, technological advances, utilization of foreign trade , the right to alleviate pressure on domestic employment all played an important role, and thus leads to the development of processing trade in Xinjiang. Contrast the history of China’s processing trade put forward the necessity of the development of processing trade in Xinjiang. By analyzing the overall situation in Xinjiang and Xinjiang’s foreign trade development of processing trade, come to the characteristics of Xinjiang’s processing trade. As for Xinjiang’s special geographical location and national policy to develop the western region of the proposed location , from those two aspects to analyze the advantages of the development of processing trade in Xinjiang. At the same time as for Xinjiang’s foreign trade institutions and the development come to the impact and the factors which constraining the development. For the Xinjiang’s processing trade development issues, at the last part of this paper we put forward our own views. Here, starting from the government and the enterprises themselves, take full advantage of the preferential policies and the western region should improve the quality of the enterprises themselves. Import a unique processing industry in Xinjiang, so that the processing trade will better serve economic growth in Xinjiang and Xinjiang’s foreign trade.
