The purpose of analysis and to compare two different methods of internal fixation in the treatment of short segment lumbar tuberculosis clinical effect . Methods: A retrospective analysis of our hospital from January 2002 -2010 in March were 50 patients with lumbar spinal tuberculosis patients , including 27 patients with an anterior debridement , internal fixation of the titanium cage filled with bone graft and single rod , over the same period 23 patients with an anterior debridement , simple self- body bone graft and plate fixation of lumbar spinal tuberculosis . The two groups of patients , whether with paraplegia before and after surgery were standardized anti -tuberculosis treatment for 4-6 weeks and 1 year postoperatively rules anti-tuberculosis treatment , under the protection of the waist postoperative absolute bed rest for four weeks and then gradually get up activities , Two groups of patients before and after surgery JOA score, postoperative deformity correction of bone fusion speed , and the cure rate for the follow-up observation and statistical comparisons . Results: All patients were followed up for 6 months -25 months , an average of 13 months , all patients without recurrence , surgical incisions healed postoperative JOA score showed significant improvement compared with the preoperative (P lt ; 0.001 ) , improvement rate between the two groups was not statistically significant (P gt; 0.05), the spinal deformity rectify the situation , bone fusion speed and cure of tuberculosis, there was no significant difference . Conclusion : short segment ( 1 to 2 vertebrae ) and lumbar spinal tuberculosis underwent a former debridement , regardless of the line titanium cage filled with autogenous bone interbody fusion , single rod fixation or simple autologous bone grafting plate fixed can effectively correct kyphosis deformity , reconstruction of spinal stability , good bone healing , both the good clinical effect and no significant difference.
