Abstract


Pneumoconiosis is one of the legal occupational diseases. And Our country is the most affected country in the world. The analysis of social and economic impact of pneumoconiosis can let more people concern pneumoconiosis, and draws the attention of government, relevant enterprises and the whole society. On the basis of the analysis, some policies can be made. And it can also promote the relevant laws to carry out. What is more, it lays the foundation for further improving Safety Economic.After the analysis of the history and present situation of pneumoconiosis, the objective laws of pneumoconiosis development, the characteristics and trends have been obtained. Through the comparison between the present situation and international and domestic planning of pneumoconiosis elimination, the main task of the next step has been made. The social impact and economic loss brought by pneumoconiosis were analyzed emphatically. The economic loss was calculated by the step-model method. The direct economic loss was divided into several parts, and so was the indirect economic loss. Each part of the loss was calculated appropriately on a separate basis, and the proportion of each part in direct and indirect economic loss has been got.The calculations indicated that the economic loss of pneumoconiosis is 182.5 billion every year in our nation, accounting for 0.544% GDP in 2009. The direct economic loss is 25.8 billion and the indirect economic loss is 156.7 billion. The indirect loss is 6 times as much as the direct loss. The disability-adjusted life years (DALY) method indicated that the loss of productivity of per person in all his life is 608,500 yuan. From these, it can be seen that pneumoconiosis does not only bring the negative social impact but also cause the significant economic loss. Finally, according to our nation’s situation, the policies and measures about prevention and control for pneumoconiosis have been put forward.
