Abstract


People always put the thought of civil society in their social background. When big changes in social structure come, the minds in pepole will change correspondingly. The concept of civil society was constantly enriched and innovated. As the main context, the relationship between civil society and the state can not only help us understand the therory of civil society, but also illustrate us how to deal with the relation among individual, society and the state. It’s realistic and significant for us. As long as the modern countries tend to mobilize and restructure his national life, the discussion of the relationship between civil society and the state wouldn’t be terminated.In capitalist history, the biggest change over the 20th century was the arrival of the monopoly capitalism which was happened on the period of late capitalism.At that time, the obvious changes had emerged in the economic, social, political and cultural fields. In the economic field, the national large-scale intervention in economic activity had given the economic behavior of private originally with more character of public power. It diminished the private aspect in the ecnomic field through the acts of state so that the line between society and state just got a little blurry,even mixed together.For this reason, the basic trend so-called "national socialization" and "social nationalization" happened. In the cultural and political fields, the capitalist countries began to integrate all kinds of autonomous groups especially the various cultural groups. They were put into the framework of the state, and become the nonofficeholding helper of the ruling class, also the ideological tool, in order to maintain bourgeois rule. Under the resultant action between the state activity and the controlling against the civil society, bourgeois rule was consolidated by getting the reasonable basis which is from the approval of people. Western marxist keenly aware this change, so they pay attention to the the field of ideology and culture research instead of the economic area. The purpose of this change is relation to the exploration of revolutionary road by the western capitalist countries. Western marxist tried to make the theory of research about the civil society awaken the general people to realize the essence of bourgeois rule, and restructure civil society on the aspect of culture and ideology in order to contend against the bourgeois rule. From the western Marxists’ research on civil society and state, we should understand the relation between them.We should recognize their relative independence and put the point of binary opposition away. So we should build the optimum progress on the relationship between civil society and the state will accelerate the pace of marching to modernization.
