Abstract


With a strong advocate of personalized teaching and lifelong education, received more and more attention to the cultivation of individual differences of learners and learner autonomy learning ability. Learner's learning style - an important factor of the individual differences, is the unprecedented attention of scholars, researchers and educators. About the role of college English teachers in the new educational environment conversion, especially in the training role in students' self-learning ability is a hot topic. Admittedly, these studies promote a certain extent reflect educators of English language teaching to promote the reform of college English teaching. However, since these studies are mostly concentrated in the teaching process, the two main variables one - teachers or students, which makes its findings can not be applied to the actual teaching in order to compensate for this deficiency, the author conducted The study aimed to explore the learning styles of students and teachers in the role of college English teaching, to provide some inspiration for the promotion of the current college English teaching and conducting individualized teaching. This study used a combination of quantitative research and qualitative research methods to understand and analyze the role of Shaanxi Institute of Technology's learning style of non-English majors and English teachers through questionnaires, interviews, classroom observation form. To understand the tendency of non-English major overall learning style, the author of the school's 175 non-English major students survey and conducted a statistical analysis of the data collected by SPSS16.0. Found that students of different professions (engineering and non-public Branch), as well as boys and girls whether there are significant differences in the learning style preferences, independent sample test.
