Abstract

In the present era, sports as an indispensible part of human life are playing an increasingly important role in people’s life. Athletic sports as a mainstream sport is becoming the focus of people’s attention. It has an important function in keeping the participants’physical and mental health, stimulating human beings’potential, promoting the traditional spirits, maintaining social stability. It also are playing an increasingly important role in promoting the rapid development of high-level athletic competition, promoting the world unity and equality .The Olympic movement’s divine purpose is to develop all-round development people, in order to create a better contribution to our society. Athletic sport as the main body of the Olympic movement, its essence is competition. But real competition is fair and equal as the prerequisite.“Olympic Charter”points out that“the purpose of the Olympic Games is through without any discrimination, has the spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play of mutual understanding to educate the youth sports activities, so that to establish a more peaceful and more beautiful world”. It can be seen that fair play is an inherent requirement of athletic sports, but it is also an important part of the Olympic spirit and all contests that is essential to uphold and abide by the principles. Fair play is the inexhaustible motive force to promote the healthy development of athletic sports ,it’s also the human pursuit of the highest level of competitive sports source. The main manifestation of the principle of fair competition is that each participant, regardless of race, gender, respectable and humble at the same starting point , a unified front height, according to the same rules of fair play, and requires related personnel in the competition (athletes, coaches, referees, etc) comply with sportsmanship, not to practice fraud.In the new historical conditions, the sports has been rapid development, behind in the development, we found that also had a lot of immorality in the sports field due to various factors, which showing a trend of expansion and serious damage to the fairness of athletic sports. We can not only stay at the system level to solve the fairness problem, and we should proceed from the human reason, philosophy, from the culture as well as to seek solutions in order to restore the fairness of competitive sports ,so that to support for athletic sports’healthy development.This paper discusses the origin of athletic sports and fair play in sports, and the equity issues which we face in the modern athletic sports. In this paper, we described the theory on solving the problem of fair play. Using the methods of documents, literature, comparative analysis, expert interviews and other research methods, to study on the fair problem in competitive sports. The full text is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is summary. The second chapter discusses the origin of athletic sports in fair, the reason of fairness cause in sports, and the role and characteristics of fairness, the dialectical relationship between fairness and competition, we also discuss on the difference in the spirit of athletic sports in a comprehensive exposition between the Western and the Eastern. The third chapter discusses the confusion which equity issues in the modern competitive sports facing from different aspects. The fourth chapter describes the Loland’s fair play theory firstly, then find the methods to resolve the questions from the system and rule level. The fifth chapter raises the humanistic aspirations of fairness in sports into the Chinese traditional culture on the basis of chapters. The final chapter is the conclusion and looks forward to the future of sports fair and athletic sports.
