Abstract


Web 2.0 has been deeply affecting Internet by how the information is created and transferred. It also has an influnce on the way users behave. A digital library is some certain special organization dependent on Internet. It is predicted that Web 2.0 will bring digital libraries a huge historic revolution about information organizations, information transmissions and information services. This paper summarizes the theories of Web 2.0 and digital libraries both domestic and abroad, making sure that the prediction is right, which is Web 2.0 will greatly affect the research and construction of digital libraries.It goes on to propose a new service model of digital library by combing the core Web 2.0 thoughts with aimed service purpose, envolving users to this model and enhancing the communications of people envolved. It gives a main discussion on the systemic and scientific characters of this model in the main part. It also makes a detailed analysis of the modules of this model such as resource construction module, reference module, personalized service module, so as to how the libraries and librarians change their roles in Web 2.0.It then mentions some essential technologies and strategies to apply this model into reality and makes a summary of the technologies being used nowadays. This paper ends up with proposing a logic and topology network of this model for digital libraries in Web 2.0.
