Abstract

News headlines as a widespread and charming language phenomenon has been the concern of journalists and linguists. We discussed predecessors from different aspects of the news headlines, but also made a lot of achievements. But most of these studies concern the definition of rhetoric, classification, did not explain its formation mechanism. Through research and analysis of the news headlines, we found some headlines literal that does not seem to fully mentioned in the news, but it was very close contact with the news content, to accurately express news topics. Readers at first glance will feel a bit dim (blurred), read it enlightened, lingering aftertaste. However, this type of news headlines is how to achieve this effect. Hidden behind what generating mechanism, we explore the generation mechanism of headlines does not.
