Abstract


As an important category of news reports, crime news reports often seen in newspapers, has become the focus of media attention. Positive significance of the crime news is self-evident that the performance of the media in crime news reports, however, has often been criticized. How standardized academic crime news reported commence active discussion, the current study is the use of qualitative methods to discuss a specific case. Crime news coverage of the \suggestions on how to improve news coverage of crime. This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter is an introduction, a problem of this study is to determine on the basis of defined and existing literature combing the concept of crime news, \the historical changes trajectory. Chapter II study method, first the framework of the theory and framework research methods, a brief introduction, the specific time period of this study is to determine for January 1, 1981 to 2010, the use of constructed week sampling method to extract 499 reported as the study sample. Build a framework for analysis of the contents of this article, on this basis to construct a number of stories framework at the macro level, reported in the form of framework and reported theme framework, constructed at the meso-level criminals (or suspects) framework of social class and media intervention stage framework at the micro level analysis title keywords and specific characters, words, sentences. Chapter study found that by a quantitative analysis of samples taken, the following conclusions: the number of crime news reports showed an increasing trend, but the growth process is relatively complex; reported the way gradual diversification, the message is tied for first place; criminal themes prejudice a personal interest in the case, followed detrimental to public interest and job-related crimes; reported involved in crime (or suspects) many at the bottom of society; media and more involved in the investigation stage cases. In the news text content analysis found that crime news reports using keywords and more inclined to highlight the legal sanctions, the facts of the crime and the judicial image; crime news reports of characters, words, sentences use gradually tend to subject to the requirements of journalistic professionalism. The fourth chapter is the conclusion and recommendations. Since the reform and opening up, \This paper argues that the contradiction between the contradiction between the freedom of the press and social control, media fame and fortune with the public interest, reported that the timeliness of the process with the case between contradictory constraints realization of journalistic professionalism. Proposed to strengthen the education of journalistic professionalism, work together to create a healthy environment for public opinion.
