Abstract


Ground moving area targets detection based on synthetic aperture radar (SAR) has been studied in this dissertation. Ground moving target indication (GMTI) is a hot research topic in the SAR community and plays an important role in both military and civilian fields.The history and the development of SAR are reviewed first and then this dissertation studies thoroughly two classical methods of multi-channel SAR moving targets detection--displaced phase center antenna (DPCA) and adaptive matched filtering (AMF). Subsequently this dissertation proposes a new method for SAR moving targets detection in complex image domain which has two-parameter-weights based on extended targets with relatively low SNR. This method uses the statistical–property rule of the mean value and the variance. Therefore, the detection image can be obtained by multiplying the mean value and variance of the test cell. Finally we detect the area targets of the SAR image can be detected by the global constant false alarm ratio (CFAR) technique. By analyzing the detection of the area targets with low SNR, it is shown that detection performance of proposed method is better than that of conventional CFAR detection algorithms for extended targets with low SNR by experimental results.
