Abstract


China and India draw much attention in recent years, not only because of their excellent economic performance and rising international influence, but also their large amount of greenhouse gas emissions. However, in the final analysis, China and India are developing countries, whose economic, cultural, social, educational developments still fall behind, and having a considerable number of people below the poverty line. China and India are facing the challenge of sustaining its rapid economic growth while dealing with the global threat of climate change. They maintain similar standpoints in the international field and have taken similar measures within the country.As the improvement of bilateral relations, the two countries’cooperation towards dealing with the global threat of climate change is being on the rise. During the Copenhagen climate conference, two countries exchanged views in comprehensive way. But no doubt they received criticism from some western countries, said“hindered the negotiation process”. Therefore, it can be said that they will be exposed to more and more international pressure. China and India have signed a pact on climate cooperation, which was seen as a key start point. However, how well the cooperation can be and how much achievements they can gain depend on how many efforts they could make. Two countries are optimistic to their cooperation, and indicate to have more communication and cooperation in the future. Now, China and India need to put aside minor differences so as to seek common grounds in dealing with the global threat of climate change.
