With the high degree of social and economic development, ecological environment is increasingly becoming a bottleneck restricting economic development. In recent years, climate change, low carbon economy, ecological construction become important issues of global concern, the core problem is to maintain sustainable development of society, and how to measure sustainable development has become a focus of academic research. Ecological footprint of its simple ideas, simple and intuitive, operational indicators, etc., as a measure of regional sustainable development is one of the important indicators. As the back garden of Shanghai Chongming, Shanghai, its ecological construction will provide a broad ecological development space, while also building a world-class eco-island Chongming Island is the ultimate development goal. So choose a scientific and reasonable evaluation method to evaluate objectively true sustainable development of Chongming Island, the state over the years, for the planning and management department in a timely manner coping strategies, is a very important issue. In this study, \Statistical Yearbook of Chongming Island, based on data from the time-scale computational analysis of Chongming Island, 1994,2000 and 2006 three different years of dynamic changes in ecological footprint account status; spatial scales from the township through ArcGIS software spatial ecological footprint Differentiation. The results showed that: Chongming Island's per capita ecological footprint of 0.9221 hm2 in 1994 down to 2006's 0.8353hm2, which in 2000 fell to the lowest value for 0.7636hm2. The ecological footprint of 0.5303 hm2 1994 to 2006, 0.7369 hm2, showing an overall ecological deficit state, but decreasing in ecological deficit, showing a good trend. From the spatial distribution pattern of ecological footprint perspective, 1994 to 2006, a total of Chongming Island ecological footprint of the township showing a decreasing trend in the lower level of the first, second, an increasing proportion of three towns by 1994 The nine turns 12 in 2006; higher grade fourth, five towns declining and has started a vacancy; ecological carrying capacity of the township showed a decreasing trend. Food consumption structure, the consumption of aquatic products, non-agricultural population and economic level, an impact on the ecological footprint and ecological capacity of several major factors. The study comparison, Chongdong in reducing the ecological footprint, the ecological deficit Chongnan highest in the whole island, the ecological deficit Chong relatively light, two towns in CHONGXI ecological surplus. Based on the above findings, from an ecological footprint form factors and spatial development pattern two aspects of sustainable development of Chongming Island to identify the problems and countermeasures and suggestions were raised.
