Abstract

The tribological study the relative motion of the friction between the surface of the object, lubrication and wear, as well as the mutual relationship among the three basic theory and practice (including the design and calculation, the lubricating materials and methods, the friction material and the surface state, and the friction fault diagnosis, monitoring and an interdisciplinary forecast, etc.). The friction and wear of interacting objects surface morphology state direct reaction to the situation of the friction and wear. Many tribology researchers in order to better reflect Friction and wear performance, has been more concerned about the study of the surface morphology of the friction and wear. This paper draw on the field of machining of the workpiece surface morphology characterization methods, based on analysis of friction and wear surface characterization methods, two-dimensional and three-dimensional characterization parameters proposed metal materials dry friction and wear can better characterize the metal surface in three-dimensional characterization parameters, Dry Friction and Wear the surface morphology reasonable parameters. Paper friction wear test on the HST-100 pin - disc friction and wear test machine, the pin is 45 # steel dimensions for Φ10mm × 25mm; disk is GCr15, size for Φ180mm, using Germany nanofocus company produces three-dimensional surface contour measuring instrument on 45 # steel pin friction wear surface morphology were detected. Test is carried out under two conditions, the first load 20N certain speed 20,30,40,50,60 m / s; two sliding speed of 20m / s constant, load for 20,40,60,80,100 N, each group The test is done 10 times, looking for statistical regularities. Test to maintain the sliding distance of 36000m. Test before, 180 #, 500 #, 1000 # sandpaper the pin friction Vice pre-ground, then run-off - disk, the friction pair is in good contact with the state and reduce the initial state of the surface roughness of the test results the impact. Finally, the use of the filter nanofocus D shape profilometer collection of pin friction and wear morphology filtering analysis are: surface height deviation Sa, surface height root mean square deviation of Sq and surface steepness of the Sku three parameters can as the basic parameters of the three-dimensional morphology of the surface of the metal material dry friction, respectively, formed with the changes in the sliding speed and load changes linearly, and the coefficient of friction and wear rate of a certain correlation exists. However, the surface steepness SKU and the correlation of the coefficient of friction and wear rate of more obvious. I.e. the surface steepness SKU value, the friction and wear more surface morphology of high-peak distribution, the peak width is more narrow, relatively spikes more the number, the greater the corresponding coefficient of friction, wear rate is smaller; When surface steepness Sku becomes small, the friction and wear surface morphology of high peak distribution less, peak width is wider, the the relative peak number becomes less, corresponding to the friction coefficient becomes smaller, the wear rate becomes large. To sum up: the the surface steepness of Sku characterize the surface morphology of dry friction and wear of metal materials more reasonable.
