Particle reinforced aluminum matrix composites because of its unique light weight than the excellent performance of high strength and modulus, wear resistance and high temperature in the aerospace, state-of-the-art weapons, electronics and automobile manufacturing industry has broad application prospects. In this paper, hypereutectic Al-Si alloy Al-18% Si as the substrate, the Al-TiO 2 -KBF 4 -Na 3 AlF < sub> 6 reaction system, thermodynamic analysis, using direct melt reaction method of particle reinforced TiB 2 / Al-18% Si composite. X-ray diffraction analyzer, optical microscopy, electron probe and scanning electron microscopy and other composite material properties phase composition, the cast microstructure particle reinforced body morphology and distribution, the effects of reaction temperature, reaction time, stirring strength and other process parameters to enhance the influence of the particle size distribution; hardness tester, tensile testing machine, friction and wear tester to test the hardness, tensile strength, and dry sliding friction and wear properties of the composite materials under normal temperature conditions. The main results are as follows: (1) The experimental results show that Al-TiO , 2 -KBF 4 -Na 3 AlF 6 < / sub> reaction system is prepared in situ composites ideal process parameters as follows: the reaction temperature is between 1000-1050 ℃, the reaction was added an amount of 6 wt%, the reaction mixture was compacts morphology added, and the reaction time was 30min, plus large stirring intensity. (2) of microstructure analysis showed that: the TiB 2 / Al-18% Si composite alpha-Al sticks Jingjing grain size than the matrix alloy with a certain degree of refinement, eutectic composites silicon size is small than the matrix. (3) X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) analysis showed that the composite material mainly composed of Al, Si, TiB 2 three phase. -Situ TiB 2 particle size is very small (lt; 1.0), and more diffuse distribution in the Al-18% Si matrix. (4) The mechanical properties of experimental results show that with the increase in particle mass fraction, the TiB 2 p/Al-18% Si composite hardness and tensile strength were significantly improved, while the elongation downward trend, when the in situ reaction of the particle mass fraction of 6%, the Brinell hardness of the composites increased from 58.2 to 82.4, increased 40.7%, tensile strength of 173.8MPa, compared with the matrix alloy 131.5MPa increased 32.2%. Tensile fracture morphology and mechanism analysis showed that the fracture mechanism of the composite thought brittle fracture. (5) dry sliding wear test results show that, with the TiB 2
