Abstract

In this paper, a method of ring-opening metathesis polymerization , respectively, with the carbon fibers and aramid pulp composite materials to enhance the the prepared poly dicyclopentadiene fiber (PDCPD) . Etched, and a coupling agent and etching - coupling agent in three different ways to carbon fibers and aramid pulp , a surface treatment, using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and infrared (IR) for the processing of fibers before and after the characterization. Preparation of a different fiber content of carbon fiber / PDCPD aramid pulp / PDCPD binary composites and carbon fiber / ethylene - propylene ( PEP ) / PDCPD carbon fiber / vinyl - oct - ene ( PEO ) / PDCPD , carbon fiber / styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) / PDCPD ternary complex materials, and use of SEM, TG , tensile testing machine , impact testing machine and shore hardness tester on the structure and mechanical properties of the material characterization tests . Obtained through continuous process improvement , the conditions applicable to the industrialized production the RIM-PDCPD products . IR results showed that the increase after the modified fibers compared to the untreated surface of the fiber reactive group , is conducive to the interface bonding between the fibers and matrix material . The SEM results showed that , after the surface of the treated carbon fibers becomes rough , ravines deepened, the specific surface area increases , so that the fibers to be improved in the dispersing effect of DCPD . TG results show that the addition of fiber is conducive PDCPD thermal stability was improved . Fibers after treatment , the composite prepared by external forces , the fibers were pulled off, greatly improves the mechanical properties of the material . The mechanical properties of the test results in the test range , the mechanical properties of the composite showed an increasing trend with increasing fiber content . Mechanical properties of carbon fiber composites prepared after nitrate - a coupling agent processing the best carbon fiber content of 0.25% , a variety of mechanical properties of the best performance ; aramid pulp composite prepared by coupling agent treatment after etching - the best mechanical properties of the material , the content of 0.4% , the best mechanical properties . The mechanical properties of ternary composites improved than binary composite mechanical properties , especially impact strength, impact strength of carbon fiber / PEO / PDCPD reached 110J / m . The hardness of the composite material as compared with the hardness of the pure the PDCPD material of not much improved .
