Soft soil distributes widely in Sixin area of Wuhan. The highway on soft soil foundation is hard to dispose. In the treatment method of soft soil foundation, surcharge preloading is widely used in construction project, but it can not reduce total settlement, as well as post-construction settlement and non-homogeneous settlement. Furthermore the cost of composite foundation is too high. With the development of soft ground treatment, the technology of vacuum & preloading method becomes an effective reinforcement method used in engineering projects. In this paper, the section of vacuum & preloading of East Meizi Road will be put as the engineering background, using the method of on-site monitored and theory combined, to do a systematic research on vacuum & preloading method and discuss the settlement prediction of method. Its main tasks are the following.(1) Combined with geological conditions in the areas of Sixin, describes several commonly used methods of the soft soil, and focus on the the joint development of domestic and international situation of vacuum & preloading method.(2) Introduce the basic theory and mechanism of strength increasing of preloading method and vacuum & preloading method.(3) Introduce the construction technology of the vacuum & preloading method with construction process and System composition.(4) According to the geological conditions of route engineering and design requirements, select the reasonable Monitoring section, the point of Settlement observation and formulate rational monitoring scheme.(5) Analysis the curves(heaps of earth time, settlement, pore water pressure, side pillar displacement) which is Changing with time and summary the rule.(6) Combined with theoretical, introduce the research methods and deducing process of Index curve method, Hyperbolic method, Poisson curve method, Asaoka method, to forecasting settlement, contrast and analysis the forecast results and the measured results, and summary the Prediction method suitable for this project.The vacuum & preloading method is more and more widely used in foundation reinforcement project and make the ideal reinforcement effect. But this method is not widely used in the Soft soil area of Wuhan, and there are also less Subsidence prediction research. In this paper, the author will research Several different subsidence prediction methods and raise the settlement prediction method which is suitable for the area of Sixin in Wuhan. This paper gets a further understanding of Reinforcement mechanism, Construction Technology, Field monitoring data, and Settlement Prediction, rich the professional knowledge and accumulate valuable engineering experience.
