Abstract


With the higher education reformation being on a march, the campus construction is underway in countrywide areas. All the universities expand enrollment, which leads to the numerous of construction of educational buildings. In addition, the current construction business of our country is developing vigorously, which stimulates the demand of qualified architects. The both promote the development of architecture education. A lot of universities set up the department of architecture and build the architecture department hall one after another. The architecture department hall in old architecture schools have not meet the requirements of education in the new situation. As the teaching and learning space of the department of architecture, the architecture department hall, in which students experience and learn space, affects the students to understand the space unconsciously. So the characteristic of the architecture department hall is very important and how to create the space which meets the requirements of students is an imperative problem at present.The space of many old Architecture Department Hall is relatively tedious currently, which puts too much emphasis on teaching space and neglects the communication needs of students. Architecture education stresses communication highly that is an important part of teaching course and can proceed teaching effectively. It can be seen that teaching space and communication space are complement each other, as the main space, which reflects the characteristic of the whole Architecture Department Hall space. So the research focuses on teaching space and communication space. Through the reading of many correlative documents and the investigation of excellent case at home and abroad, the essay makes detailed analysis and study. As to teaching space, the essay chooses design classroom, comment space, exhibition space to analysis their form, feature and development tendency; to communication, the essay mainly states the form, composition methods and elements, development tendency. Through these investigation and analysis, we sum up the space characteristic of the architecture department hall which meets our educational mode, in order to provide referenced suggestions to the construction and reconstruction of the architecture department hall for the moment.
