Automated optical inspection (AOI) is based on the production of optical principles common means for detecting defects , the use of machine vision inspection standards as technology, test speed, the advantages of defect capture rate , is now widely used in surface mount technology (SMT) industry electronic product testing . With the circuit board components miniaturization and increasing the degree of intensity of the AOI system processing a higher accuracy requirements. Improve the accuracy of the amount of image data will cause sharp increase , as the current software architecture continuous processing , image storage limits access to programs and the processing speed of the PC and the data transmission efficiency , severely reducing the AOI test speed, in particular in a plurality of cameras simultaneously with the image capture and image processing systems. Automatic optical inspection equipment for the image processing speed, accuracy and image storage space and other aspects of the bottleneck problem , we propose a region of interest image coding and decoding algorithms. The algorithm is based on the JPEG standard compression technique , each block of the image based on the different levels of interest set different precision value and decoding the block partition decoded separately , thereby improving image compression and decompression efficiency. Through experimental analysis of the actual effect of the compression algorithm , the compression algorithm is embedded in the test data shows AOI camera , the algorithm successfully solved the current AOI inspection architecture to transfer data between the PC and the camera large , the transmission speed is slow , PC- heavy workload and detecting problems of slow and can meet the current SMT production precision and speed requirements.
