The Statistical Technique of Medical Graduate Students’ Achievement Motivation and Its Associated Psychosocial Factors

Abstract


Objective: To understand the status of the medical graduate achievement motivation; using appropriate statistical methods to reveal the Medical Graduate Achievement Motivation and Personality, self-efficacy, self-esteem and social support in sexual relations. Methods: by stratified random sampling, extraction 232 a medical university full-time master's students in grade school, one, two, three, one-on-one survey, achievement motivation, personality, self-efficacy, such as the current data; descriptive statistical analysis, univariate analysis, Pearson related analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, principal component regression analysis, factor analysis, structural equation modeling analysis and other statistical methods to reveal medical graduate achievement motivation and its associated social and psychological factors time and affect the inter-relationships between the factors. Meta-analysis of Achievement Motivation average, the basis for comparison as a medical graduate achievement motivation. Results: The survey received a total of 221 valid questionnaires were surveyed medical graduate pursuit of success motivation (Ms) an average score of 38.90 ± 5.65, to avoid failure (Mf) the average score was 36.16 ± 5.39 the achievement motivation average (Ms -Mf) to 2.74 ± 3.53. Medical graduate students to pursue a strong desire to succeed, positive efforts to pay for the success of the effort; avoid defeat average score significantly higher than the average level of college students (male: 26.56 ± 7.89; female: 29.42 ± 6.97). Multiple linear regression analysis showed that self-efficacy and social support affect medical graduate level of achievement motivation. Principal component analysis and factor analysis of the Medical Graduates psychological and behavioral characteristics, including self-esteem, self-efficacy, social support, and personality of these factors can explain most of the variance. Structural equation modeling analysis showed that self-esteem, self-efficacy, social support, and personality aspects of achievement motivation has a direct impact, students, gender and work experience relevant factors can be indirectly by affecting self-esteem, self-efficacy sense way to influence achievement motivation. Conclusion: Medical Postgraduates the pursuit of success motivation with the norm was no significant difference, the motivation to avoid failure was significantly higher than in the general institutions of the students, the total score of the achievement motivation compared to less than college students in general schools. The use of a variety of statistical methods, data analysis to explore, some better method for the study of mental health problems.
