Health literacy is a kind of individual ability,that is who can access,unders tandand deal with the basic health information and health services,and usethese information and services to judge and decide correctly, maintain and promote healthy.In recent years,healthliteracy problems are highly valued by researchers and local government at home and abroad.For health literacy research in Chinahas just started, China started the first Chinese residents health literacy survey in 2008.《Chinese citizens health literacy the basic knowledge and skills (try out)》is the first government announcement in our health education field, is also the first worldwide expressly citizens health literacy content of government documents.The first Chinese residents health literacy survey results were published in2009,the overall level of health literacy forour residents were 6.48%,our residents health literacy level is generally low.This show that improving the residents health literacy level is the urgent problems,it relates to realize the demanding goal of improving our people,s health quality.ObjectiveThe purpose of this study is to understand theover all level andthe various dimensions of sub-level of health literacy of residents in Jilin Province at the presentanalysis the main factors of health literacy of residents, find the weak link of residential health literacy.They provide decision support and scientific basis for development of health literacy intervention pertinently and improving residents overall health literacy and maintaining a healthy state.MethodsIn this study,we selected the multi-stage stratified cluster random sampling method to choose the survey points and objects. There were urban and rural residents 6297 peoplebetweenl5 to 69-year-old from changchunjilin, siping,tong hua,songyuan. The questionnaire used the 2009 Chinese citizens health literacy unified design, this is unified design basedon related contents of the Chinese citizens health literacy basic knowledge and skills (tryout).The questionnaire include the basic situation,health knowledgeand the health concepts,healthy lifestyleand behavior,health skills of survey objects.The data collected used Epidata 3.1 for double entry, then the SPSS 13.0 statistical software is used to analyze the data. Measurement data with X±S to describe, the hypothesis test using/test or ANOVA;count data with Percent age or composition ratio to describe, the hypothesis test using x2 test.In alpha= 0.05 for inspection standards. Through the descriptive analysis, single factor analysis statistical analysis methods, understanding health literacy level of the different characteristic people and discussing the influence factors of health literacy.ResultsThe overall level of health literacy for residents of jilin province was 4.65%,health literacy average scoreis 20.2 points.Which had the health concepts and health knowledge literacy was 8.89%,healthy lifestyle and behavior was 2.86%, healthy skills was 20.80%.we kown from this research results,the influe nce factors of health literacy residents hadareas,gender,age,education,occupation and income.Among them,the city residents health literacy level was higher than the countryside’s one; 50 years old and above age group health literacy was minimum;the higher education degree of residents,the health literacy level was higher; the health literacy level of enterprises and institutions personnel was supreme;Withthe economic income increasing,health literacy level also ascended.Conclusions1. The overall level of health literacy for residents of jilin province was 4.65%, from the angle of scoring,health literacy average score is 20.2 points,health literacy level is lower.2. The influence factors of health literacy of jilin province had areas,gender,age, education,occupation and income.3. Jilin provinceshould strengthen the health literacy level of the residents,when making to targeted interventions,consider mainly rural residents,the elderly, low culture level crowd.
