Abstract


This paper studies the Margaret Laurence in her novel \Domestic novel research concentrates on the four aspects: the theme of female attention; theme for survival and self-seeking attention; attention on the theme of national identity as well as Lawrence's contribution to literature in Canada's concern. This put her attention on women and her anti-colonial theme combine her studies to explore the Canadian national identity. Patriarchy in the control and be controlled in the relationship with imperialism is similar. The first chapter discusses the protagonist Morag female identity through their own quest for self. Her own female identity as well as a clear understanding of the revolt against patriarchal construct caused her to seek the self, and ultimately she left with patriarchal ideas Brook, back to Jules's side, becoming a self-reliant writer and single mother. The second chapter analyzes the Lawrence of Canadian national identity exploration. This process is mainly reflected in Morag with Brook and Jules marital relationship. This chapter analyzes the Lawrence attitudes of different ethnic cultures. First, Lawrence expressed represent the British imperialist and colonialist thinking critically and independently of the necessity of British culture. Secondly, through the description of the person Giacometti, Lawrence expressed his sympathy and indigenous Indians interaction with indigenous people converged thought. Finally, the chapter analyzes the Lawrence advocacy for multiculturalism. Chapter III of the text with the new historicism and historical theory of Margaret Laurence as a writer in the Canadian National Identity in contributions. Through this novel, she and the government's multicultural policy echoes; while she was on the school history books on indigenous people questioned the accuracy of the description. By Morag and her own writing, Lawrence emphasized the role of literary heritage of the past. Through this novel, Lawrence's identity as a writer on multicultural policy has contributed to the promotion and made her ethnically diverse opinions and views. Through novels multicultural advocate, Lawrence echoed the government's multicultural policy. She stressed the importance of multicultural policy in respect of each ethnic culture and heritage, intercultural communication and advocacy for the need for equality.
