Abstract


Jean Baudrillard published many books and written many papers. Baudrillard was known as" The high priest of post-modern", but he denied that he is post-modern genre. Jean Baudrillard is a collection of contradictions. At present, in China, the main concern is "The System of Object" and "The Consumer Society". This thesis based on the complexity of thought Baudrillard, explore the thinking of Baudrillard, and prove Baudrillard’s symbolic exchange theory from Mauss’s research about the behavior of exchange gift in primitive society and Bataille’s general economic, waste principle. This thesis discussion the rationality of Baudrillard’s symbolic exchange theory in current social, tries to summarize historical experience in it. The author believes that this subject of Baudrillard’s symbolic exchange theory for the future and healthy development of Chinese society and culture has important academic values and a strong practical significance.
