Abstract

Buffer overflow attacks has become the main way of network attacks . It contains a carefully constructed the attack program entry address long string to the buffer overflow , overflow section contains the return address of the original program , program entry address of such attacks coverage program return address to complete the program jumps execution of malicious code , in order to achieve the purpose of the system of the attack , and its harmful consequences . SPARC v8 is a RISC architecture system buffer overflow vulnerability also exists in the SPARC v8 architecture , which will endanger the security of the operating system based on the SPARC v8 architecture . This article due to buffer overflow attacks took place in the process of a subroutine call , SPARC v8 architecture , the management of the register window and stack structure together to complete the process of subroutine calls , based on the principle of buffer overflow attacks , in-depth analysis of the characteristics of register windows in the SPARC v8 architecture subroutine call and stack structure , buffer overflow attacks SPARC v8 architecture program , and a classic open source the product LEON2 processor SPARC v8 a buffer overflow attack program to write and test verification . Successfully LEON2 Processor Buffer overflow attacks , buffer overflow attacks SPARC v8 architecture solution existence and seek SPARC v8 architecture in the detection and prevention of buffer overflow attacks necessity . In order to solve the problem of buffer overflow vulnerabilities in the SPARC v8 architecture , based on the characteristics of buffer overflow attacks SPARC v8 architecture , the SPARC v8 architecture in the detection and prevention of buffer overflow attacks corresponding program in LEON2 processing on implementation . The embodiment of the ModelSim simulation and FPGA development board test , final verification of the correctness and validity of the detection and prevention of buffer overflow attacks .
