Abstract

The estuary channel between the river and the ocean, the main place for the exchange of land and sea substances. Yellow Sea as the the important marginal sea of ??the western Pacific to the deposition rate, record information, high resolution, and contains large amounts of terrigenous clastic sediments as the main feature, is an ideal place to study the exchange interaction of land and sea. The Yalu River estuary is connected directly with the Yellow Sea, its water, sand directly into the sea, so that the deposition of the Yellow Sea region have a greater impact. Around the northern Yellow Sea from the Korean Peninsula river runoff carrying sediment into which the Yellow River, Yangtze River, also because of the huge amount of sediment deposited on the entire Yellow Sea have a profound effect, therefore, the source of the material of the region is very complex. Understand the contribution of different sources on the northern Yellow Sea sediments, which will deepen the understanding of the Yalu River Estuary material recycling process for the environmental protection of the region's water, the treatment of pollutants, marine resources development, governance and coastal protection of ports and waterways to provide scientific basis. In this paper, the sediment cores in surface sediments of the Yalu River estuary and nearshore areas and estuaries waters CH01 geochemical analysis and study of rare earth elements (REE), and combined with the sediment grain size parameters, to explore the area of ??the Yalu River estuary and outer waters sediment REE composition characteristics and differentiation characteristics, REE master factors, and compared with the Yangtze River, the Yellow River and the Korean peninsula in river sediments, reveals the significance of its provenance. The results showed: the average sediment REE content of the Yalu River estuary and nearshore areas with average global sediment REE contents in quite, relatively close to the Chinese loess rare earth element content, and deep-sea sediments REE abundances vary greatly with obvious \The chondrite-normalized mode, the study area sediment REE patterns show LREE enrichment, losses of heavy rare earth elements, significant negative Eu anomalies, typical terrigenous. Comparison of rare earth elements surrounding major river sediments, found significantly different REE composition of river sediments in China and the Korean Peninsula. Source rock areas controlled by sediment REE composition features. In addition, the North Yellow Sea sediments cores rare earth elements differentiation characteristic parameter obvious differences with China's Yangtze River, Yellow River, Hanjiang Korean Peninsula, Jinjiang, Yeongsan differentiation characteristics of the Yalu River sediments closest, indicating that the deposition of the northern Yellow Sea the main source of material for the Yalu River runoff transport of terrigenous clastic material, and the largest contribution to the amount of sediment transport on the northern Yellow Sea area.
