Abstract

Since the 1970s, the theoretical receiver function method continuous development and improvement, has become an important method of using teleseismic records to study the structure of the deep Earth. This article describes the basic theory of the receiver function and in recent years the development and application of comprehensive utilization of Bohai Bay Basin is the most comprehensive survey line six seismic array data, inversion of the crust and upper mantle structure of the region, has made some results and understanding: (1) to receive the basic theory of the function-based, of Bohai Bay teleseismic data processing. Select from seismic records, filter, P-wave interception, coordinate transformation pretreatment to the frequency domain deconvolution plot moveout, stacking, to the inversion fitting, and finally get beneath the station velocity structure, the actual data processing The process detailed narrative description. Select the filtering parameters, the stacking effect analysis and inversion fitting process described. (2) to extract the receiver functions of the 107 stations 003 stations to 218 stations, identified phases such as P, Ps, PpPs Ps phases is important phases of the Moho. Overall mountains receiver function waveform, Bohai Bay Basin receiver function is very complex, many stations the Ps, PpPs difficult to identify, this layer of thick sedimentary basin. Receiver function waveform fitting effect mountain basin area. (3) throughout the study area, the layering of the crust has strong lateral heterogeneity. A depth of 50 km sedimentary layer can be divided into the upper crust, layer in the earth's crust, the lower crust and upper mantle. There are significant differences in the thickness of the deposited layer of the Bohai Bay Basin and the surrounding mountains, basin sedimentary layer thicker than that of the surrounding mountains; the upper crust and the sedimentary layer is closely related to the thickness of the crust beneath the station and depth varies with stations topography and geographic location; apparent speed rewind phenomenon of crust within the study area, indicating the existence of low-velocity layer; the basin area significantly less than the thickness of the lower crust surrounding mountains, is a clear sign of the thinning of the crust, sediments Quite the contrary. (4) in the study area the Moho depth varies, most shallow and only 31 km, the deepest of up to 40 km, from the mountains to the basin of the depth of the Moho obviously shallow Description mountain crustal thickness greater than the basin area. Overall, the basic form of the crustal structure of the study area is the western thick, thin eastern mountain thick, thin basin, the overall trend from northwest to southeast thinning. Late Mesozoic North China mantle thermal strenuous activities, Bohai Bay Basin crustal thinning is the result of mantle material intruded.
