Abstract


From the last 20 years of the last century to the present, the education sector of the Chinese English second language teaching and foreign language teaching has commenced a more in-depth study , but the small number of studies for domestic minority students learning English , high quality , and most of the lack of effective the theoretical basis and empirical research . So far , have not found any systematic study of factors affecting domestic minority students learning English . View of the mother tongue of the minority students in the native language , Chinese is their second language , learning English equal learning a third language to study minority students learning styles and strategies , analysis of various favorable and unfavorable factors , for exploring provide the basis for teaching methods , it is necessary and makes sense . The study will focus on the following issues : 1) the affected Sichuan Yi secondary school students learning English internal factors : such as learning styles , learning strategies , psychological factors ; 2 ) Sichuan Minority Students external factors : such as the quality of teachers , family factors social and cultural factors ; 3 ) internal and external factors Sichuan Yi secondary school students learning English , what big or small ; 4 ) with reality , explore of Sichuan Yi students ' English learning strategies and learning methods . Based on the theory of learning styles and learning strategies , theoretical framework , using questionnaires and interviews and other research tools to Yi regional empirical investigation , understand analyze Yi secondary school students learning the environmental conditions , combined with the author 's teaching practice to analyze the data collected . The research results show that the main factors causing the Yi 'English learning difficulties is a combination of external factors and internal factors . The internal factors such as learning styles , learning strategies and psychological factors ; external factors such as family factors , teacher factors , social and cultural factors . However, the combination of English teaching theory , plus Spss analysis , researchers found that external factors in fact have a greater impact on Yi secondary school students learning , and proceed from external factors can effectively improve Yi secondary school students learning situation . Finally, also pointed out the significance of this study Yi secondary school students learning English is to meet the requirements of the new century students , to help improve minority areas of foreign language education as well as the student's ability to learn .
