Abstract


Word string (Lexical bundle) \High frequency word strings in natural language to fully reflect the characteristics of language domain , so language learning , especially learning of English for Specific Purposes must master the content and learning materials . In this study, the Maritime English Corpus , using computer-aided the Corpus automatic processing method to explore the use of the characteristics of a string of high-frequency words Maritime English , by contrast Maritime English corpus and English Corpus . The study includes the the 3-6 word string ( 1 ) Maritime English general distribution and frequency distribution characteristics; Maritime English (2) high-frequency characteristics of the four - word string in the structure and function of ; ( 3) General English the relative ratio of the high frequency of the unique characteristics of the four - word string Maritime English . The results show that : ( 1) Maritime English word string a lot of the same now , and with the increase in the length of the word string , reproduce frequencies smaller . (2) Most of the word string is not complete structural units, and the short string of words of a given length can be incorporated into a long string of words . In addition , the obvious meaning of the word string does not have the idioms significance . (3) four words of the high frequency of maritime English string to cover a 9 - group structure mode . 75% is a noun phrase and a prepositional phrase . High frequency 4 ( 4 ) Maritime English words string expression of the three types of features are the expression of attitude or position , organizational discourse , as well as the significance . These three types of function , 73% the expression indicates significance . (5) Maritime English common words string has some unique features . The results of this study is the preparation of maritime English teaching materials , the Maritime English lexicographer as well as the maritime English teaching has some inspiration and help to promote the continuous development of maritime English teaching in China .
