Abstract


There are abundant materials about the legends and beliefs of Wu Zixu. Relative studies are also rich, but not enough. In this thesis, we draw on new materials in new perspectives, expecting to supply a gap for precedent achievements and make further discussion on the structure of legends.In Section I, by introducing oral legends of Wu Zixu widely spread among folks, we intend not only to show the diversity of imaginations about Wu Zixu, but also to solve some special problems which we came across in studies based on documents only.In SectionⅡ, different kinds of oral legends about Wu Zixu are compared and analyzed synchronically by the method of morphology.
