Abstract

If we are in the context of international politics, the cooperative relationship between China and Togo went back since August 12,1964 when the two countries had signed a technical cooperation agreement allowing the Chinese of Taiwan to develop irrigated rice, the market garden, and cane sugar for a period of two years in TOGO. However, it was by 1972 under the initiative of President Eyadema of TOGO and MAO Zedong of China that start the diplomatic relations between the two countries. Thus, historically, relations remained a harmonious cooperation and constant because of the friendship and understanding that have always ruled between the leaders and peoples of both countries and the identity of views on the issue of international politics as mutual respect for sovereignty, mutual non-aggression, non-interference in internal affairs, equality, peaceful coexistence and mutual benefit.Consider the socio-economic cooperation. We realize that all agreements and treaties that were signed for the good management and common development of potential alternatives available to them have all found their culmination. Only recent projects such as agreements of bypass Aledjo and mountain Defale; the construction of two interchanges in the city of Lome and the construction of the dam Adjrala have not been achieved. All these demonstrate the sincerity and good faith of both governments in the sense of mutual respect they accord.Lome on his side is sparing no effort in its cooperative relationship with Beijing. Political support for the consolidation and territorial integrity at the international level, rising volume of imports of parts of China, good management and safety assurance of investment and commercial facilities on the territory of Togo, economic integration of the territories landlocked as NIGER, BURKINA FASO, MALI... are also the benefits derived by the Middle Kingdom of its cooperation with its partner. The balance of diplomatic relations between CHINA and TOGO by saying that the political system of both countries is similar and therefore the leaders of both countries have the same design and all facing in the same direction.In economic terms, other development opportunities can still afford if both countries want to consider multiple possibilities and strengths they have. Clearly, China can establish its own factories and industries on Togolese soil for the benefit of both countries to balance the trade balance deficit that we find too much and which consequently disadvantage TOGO.However, we note that the cooperative relations between CHINA and TOGO are not born ex nihilo. They have their roots in a platform molded into the context of the relationship that China continues to have with African countries. However, the Sino-African relations themselves have a rich historical context through a series of forums to which we must not overlook the active participation of TOGO. It is this logic that led us to devote the first part of the thesis on the history of Sino-African relations, China’s policy in Africa and diplomatic relations.
