Within the last 2 decades, the younger generation tends to follow the trend to become the loyal users of new media. By contrast, the traditional paper media, particularly the newspaper, suffered a serious trouble which is about the gliding viewers. It seems that the newspapers industry is coming to the end. Both judging by the domestic circulation and reputation of the newspaper, Titan Sports is unquestionable the best sports newspaper in China. What we see is totally different form what we thought.The world newspaper industry has suffered bad days; however Titan Sports group still has sunny days especially during the World Cup month. That is the reason why I chose this topic as my dissertation’s subject. According to my research analysis, the author thinks that the reporting contents that Titan Sports is the key of success. This article is trying to discover the main traits of Titan Sports World Cup Daily by study of Newspaper Editing.In this paper, the author applied the method of literature data, mathematical statistics and content analysis to study the traits of Titan Sports World Cup Daily. This paper consists of the press releases selection, the press releases deployment, news headlines editing, layout editing, and Photo editing. The last part of the paper summarizes the main characteristics of Titan Sports World Cup daily report.According to the author’s analysis, the conclusion of this dissertation is following. The main source of the press release are original written by Titan Sports reporters, and it mainly focus on special correspondents and co-use of newspaper articles. The press releases that Titan Sports selected emphasized on news value, matched the demand of the readers and also paid much attention to balance of the news report. Titan Sports’headline editing has simple beauty, visual beauty, beauty of language and emotion. Titan Sports’Layout Editing matches the readers’reading habits. The photo editing adheres to the needs of press releases, needs of readers and advertisers.Finally, I hope that this dissertation could provide some experience for other domestic newspapers in reporting the major sports events in the future.
