Abstract


Post-90 generation, as a synonym of the people who alleged born between 1990 and 1999, appeared frequently in the internet news in recent years, and the thousands of reports is establishing post-90 generation’s media image. As post-80 generation, post-90 generation was reported negatively too much when it just entered the view of media. However the reported discourse about post-80 generation was reversed from depreciating to praising in a particular social context in 2008. Would the post-90 generation’s media image also change as time goes by?By systematic sampling and content analyzing of the internet news on post-90 generation appearing in the titles of such information between 2008 and 2010, we find that there is great change in the images of post-90 generation in the internet news in comparison with those former studies and we also find that such comments popular on internet as Naocan(deformed brain) and non-mainstream are not appropriate. On the basis of average value, there are such findings that the psychological traits, spirit, social welfare views, studying attitude, psychological qualities and the discourse of post-90 generation present the positive trends, while the indexes as legal awareness, sexual attitudes and behavior, consumption and degree of sub-cultural identity are presented by negatively due to the subject-choosing preferences of media and low tolerance of society.On the basis of construction theory, this article tries to analyze the reasons for the positive tendency of post-90 generation images in the internet news in such perspectives as the source of news, the external environment of media and the operational methods of news. In the study, we find that in the part of internet news on post-90 generation, there still exist such issues as subject-choosing deviation, the truth-losing news, over-commercializing reports, and superficial writing. And then the countermeasures and suggestions are produced on the basis of such two perspectives as reporting ideas and ways in the hopes of offering aids to the true, overall, objective and accurate presentation of post-90 generation images in the news reports.
