Abstract

Increasing the size of the Internet search engine has become an important milestone in the history of the development of the Internet . The growing number of Internet users choose the search engine as the tool of choice for network resources . Search engine performance is not always satisfactory , often when the user enters a query , the search engine returns thousands of search results , however , few users are willing to browse more than three . The web results returned by the search engine showing the massive distribution , dynamic , evolutionary inspired us and application information foraging theory to study it . This article draw on information foraging theory , put forward a recessive feedback based on user page yield estimate . Firstly, to develop a search experiment platform - tulip search , the platform can record the users to browse through the pages , reading time , scrolling drop-down time as well as the number of links clicked . Then, the article by an experiment to analyze the relationship between each the feedback behavior with page information gain calculation page yield equation . Subsequently, the use of the results of the equation the search results page to the level of information in accordance with the calculated yield in descending order, and through the program , so that the tulip search platform to obtain a new result of the arrangement . And in two experiments , we were two groups of users in the use of the search results in descending order according to the page yield and default cable to perform the same search task results of these two cases , the record search results to validate the method good or bad. Finally, to conclude , better able to help users complete information search tasks , combined with user the recessive feedback and information foraging theory to improve Internet users search experience is a successful exploration and attempt to optimize the search results sorted .
