Abstract

Irregular objects are a special class of objects in everyday life , they do not have a fixed shape 's appearance , one can easily identify these objects given uniform definition of these objects are not always accurate , so irregular objects the simulation is difficult and hot in the computer graphics , the irregular objects simulation technology advances in the development of computer graphics , computer animation technology development are of great significance . Already a variety of irregular objects simulation technology , in which the particle system is considered to be a more successful approach , received wide attention and research . This paper use particle systems and OpenGL visualization technology simulation more representative irregular objects - snow fell , mainly to do the following tasks : statement on the the existing irregular object simulation technology and current status of analysis , study the basic idea of the particle system and method , detailed and summarized generated particle system , and introduce some of the key technologies of visualization using OpenGL . Snow falling by gravity , air resistance and wind , the movement is very complex . Based on the kinetic theory established snow was simplified motion model proposed the simplified particle emitters and collision detection method , and wind model made ??approximate simulated snow particles splash in the wind under the direction any guarantee simulation improve the speed of operation on the basis of the effect . To make the simulation results more true in this article as a starting point visual analog effects , in the on OpenGL technology base , based on the principle of the particle system , the use of technologies such as texture mapping , blending function to construct the basic form of the snow particles , gives the drawing , rendering the methods and steps of the the snowflakes dynamic simulation scenarios , visualization of simulation results , to improve the fidelity of the simulation results , the expected analog effects . Based on the above algorithms and methods to construct a system framework for virtual snow scenes special effects system , snow scenes special effects system module division , designed and achieved a snowy scene effects system . The experimental results and analysis show that the algorithm can achieve to meet the virtual snow scene authenticity and real-time requirements .
