Abstract


Old village and hamlet is gradually formed in the continuous development process of history. The physical and nonphysical cultural forms it left is not only the result of historical deposition, but also the carrier of deep historical and cultural significance to local, which fully reflects particular historical period style and characteristics of regional culture. Old village and hamlet is a kind of non-renewable material resources which provides valuable information for us to study residents’culture and life. However, along with the development of urbanization, the existing living conditions can’t satisfy the villagers’demand. As a result, a large amount of historical buildings in village were broken down and replaced by morden buildings, the precious material in old village and hamlet is fading away. So protecting these material resources in old village and hamlet is imminent.This paper is focused on conservation and renewal of XiaHu ancient village. Firstly, digged out historical and cultural values and characteristics of the XiaHu itself, and took effective measures to implement protection by field research; Secondly, analyzed the site of ancient villages, plane configuration, spatial morphology and spatial distribution, summarized XiaHu ancient village layout and morphological characteristics; Finally, started from the characteristics of XiaHu and the existing problems, combined with the related theory and practice experience at home and abroad, the paper came up with detailed protection requirements, construction point and implementation countermeasure for the protection and renewal of XiaHu ancient village.Base on the conservation and renewal of XiaHu, hope to keep the precious resources in this ancient village, to ensure that the traditional culture and the historical contexts continue.
