Objectives To study the related microneurosurgical planning and provide timely angiographic diagnosisfor cerebral venous diseases accurately, microanatomical features of bridging veins and its venograms obtained by digital subtraction angiography(DSA), CT venography(CTV) and MR venography (MRV) were observed and the correlation between them were analyzed.Method①30 cadaveric specimens (60 sides) were dissected to observe the bridging veins of posterior cranial fossa by microanatomy; The morphological characteristics and distribution of the dural entrence of the bridging veins of posterior cranial fossa can be observed.②Cerebral angiograms of 36 patients who under went DSA, 22 patients who under went CTV and 18 patients who under went MRV without cerebral venous diseases and damaged veins were obtained to investigate the bridging veins; the images of CTV and MRV were reconstructed by the application of multi-planar recinstructiong (MPR) and volume rendering (VR);The results of microanatomy and angiography can be compared. Results 1. Compared to the cadavers, DSA, CTV and MRV revealed of 52.63%, 76.58% and 88.42% of the cerebellar bridging veins because the veins depicted by the imageology were 48.37%, 24.84% and 18.95% larger than that of the cadavers. 2. The dural entrence of were clustered along superior petrosal sinus, the dura mater nearby Meckel’s cavity and jugular foramen, marginal sinus, occipitalis sinus and Galen’s vein.3. The groups of the bridging veins of posterior cranial fossa①The bridging veins entry into the superior petrosal sinus: Compared to the cadavers, DSA, CTV and MRV revealed of 94.17%, 79.17% and 89.17% of the cerebellar bridging veins because the veins depicted by the imageology were 3.35%, 5.74% and 8.13% larger than that of the cadavers. There are six veins belong to bridging veins contact or copmpress trigeminal nerve.②The group of Meckel’s cavity: Compared to the cadavers, DSA, CTV and MRV revealed of 0, 54.83% and 75.27% of the cerebellar bridging veins because the veins depicted by the imageology were0, 12.28% and 4.39% larger than that of the cadavers.③The group of jugular foramen: Compared to the cadavers, DSA, CTV and MRV revealed of 0, 90% and 80% of the cerebellar bridging veins because the veins depicted by the imageology were0, 11.22% and 4.08% larger than that of the cadavers.④The group of marginal sinus: Compared to the cadavers, DSA, CTV and MRV revealed of 0, 43.40% and 37.74% of the cerebellar bridging veins because the veins depicted by the imageology were0, 25.58% and 20.93% larger than that of the cadavers.⑤The group of occipitalis sinus: This group is not revealed by DSA, CTV and MRV.⑥The group of Rosenthal’s vein: Compared to the cadavers, DSA, CTV and MRV revealed of 89.79%, 94.89% and 93.88% of the cerebellar bridging veins because the veins depicted by the imageology were 37.28%, 36.72% and 34.46% larger than that of the cadavers. The cadavers, CTV and MRV revealed of 5.0%、2.27% and 2.78%of Rosenthal’s vein’s scatter plot on cerebellar falx, and venous blood was drainaged into straight sinus by meniogcal vein.Conclusion①Study the bridging veins of posterior cranial fossa systematically and comprehensively, which enrich anatomy and image knowledge.②The dural entrence of were clustered along the dura mater near by internal acoustic pore, Meckel’s cavity and jugular foramen; Study the anatomical features, which help to preserve bridging veins in neurosurgical planning and procedure to decrease the volume of bleeding avoid postoperative complication.③CTV and MRV can find more than 50% the bridging veins of superior petrosal sinus, Meckel’s cavity, jugular foramen and Rosenthal’s vein. CTV and MRV are efficient mode to preoperative angiographic evaluation of posterior cranial fossa and angiographic diagnosis of cerebral venous diseases.④DSA just can find the bridging veins of superior petrosal sinus and Rosenthal’s vein; CTV and MRV outweigh DSA in identifying anatomical features of the bridging veins of posterior cranial fossa.
