Abstract


Objective: Meta-analysis (meta-analysis) method of systematic review of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with gastric cancer surgery patients after R0 resection rate and 5-year survival rate for gastric cancer surgical treatment options to provide comprehensive reference . Materials and Methods : Through Pubmed, Cochrane Library , EMBASE, Ovid retrieval system , Google search engine and manual searches and other means to retrieve all relevant domestic and neoadjuvant chemotherapy in gastric cancer clinical study . Surgical patients after R0 resection rate and 5-year survival statistics , according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria were screened and enrolled in the study of literature line quality evaluation, extracting relevant data using methods META Cochrane systematic review analyzed and depicted funnel plot assessment of publication bias , the use of sensitivity analysis, calculate the number of fail-safe evaluation of the results of stability. Results from 1993 to 2009 a total of 10 randomized controlled trials included in the analysis were 1850 cases of gastric cancer , including surgery after neoadjuvant chemotherapy group, 911 cases , 939 cases of direct surgical group . Meta-analysis showed that surgery after neoadjuvant chemotherapy compared with immediate surgery , R0 resection rate odds ratio , the risk of death after 5 years odds ratio values ??were 1.49,0.67,95 0R % confidence interval ( 1.16-1.94 ) , ( 0.53-0.83), P values ??were 0.002,0.0003 , the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion: Compared with the direct surgery , neoadjuvant chemotherapy before surgery can improve cancer patients R0 resection rate , and to improve survival after 5 years there is a certain correlation.
