Being uprooted and living a miserable exile life, these intellectuals cast their entire life into their spiritual world. Nabokov depicts their complicated inner world with great subtlety and deep insight. These images of exiled Russian intellectuals have some kind of spiritual connection and evolving situation in the secret level, this paper summarize the image distribution and image classification of the exiled Russian intellectuals in Nabokov’s novels.Focus on selected Mary(1926), The Eye (1930), The Real Life of Sebastian Knight’s (1941) and Pnin(1957),to analysis the images of exiled Russian intellectuals, to discuss how these intellectuals gradually get rid of the real exile and finally turn to spiritual exile by analyzing their spiritual experience and life pursuit in their exile life; ultimately, to find out the significance of their spiritual exile. And these Russian intellectuals in exile who are exploring the mysterious "other world", this combination of Nabokov’s own exile and exile writing, to study the association of the "other world" and the exile of the "no root". The reason why Nabokov created images of the Russian intellectuals in exile in most of his novels, has close relations with his own exile experience, the Russian exiled intellectuals in his novels also have common with the images of intellectuals in the traditional Russian literarure. In addition, Nabokov’s exile writing also has profound relevance with the wave of exile literature of the 20th century of world, this article will study the writing motivation of the images of Russian intellectuals in exile from the point of view. This article is divided into three chapters:In the first chapter,I get an overview of the images of Russian intellectuals’ distribution, classification and evolution. In this thesis, the images of Russian exiled intellectuals in Nabokov’s novels are divided into five groupsrdrifters who Was overwhelmed by the exile, desirers who trying to return in the spirit personality dividers who lost self, poetic experiencers who escaped in the art world, and the person go to the other world who get rid of double bind. The foremost change of these exiled Russian intellectuals is that they gradually steer their attention from the practical outside world into their inner world. In the second chapter, carried out a detailed analysis of the images of Russian intellectuals in exile, the images are from Mary, The Eye, The Real Life of Sebastian Knight’s and Pnin.,in which Four works, the images of Russian intellectuals in exile is more typical, in addition to Mary, the old poet Bo Teya, acting on behalf of the Decline and Fall of the White Russian in exile intellectuals, the other three works of Russian intellectuals in exile status (occupation) and the exile background is amazing consistent with Nabokov’s exile experience. From exile in Europe, the young tutor Sanchis Lavrov (The Eye) to the fledgling writer Sebastian Knight (The Real Life of Sebastian Knight’s) and then to exile in the United States University Pnin (pnin), these four figures’changes in the spiritual dimension have a certain coherence, The spiritual world is gradually becoming a broad from the narrow deep. They step from the compelled practical exile to the self-imposed spiritual exile, heading for Nabokov’s mysterious "other world". The "other world" is undoubtedly related to Nabokov’s uncuttable Russian blood. The third chapter, studying the writing motivation of the images of Russian intellectuals in exile. Meanwhile, Nabokov’s personal exile experience and the images of intellectuals in traditional Russian literature prompt him to create these exiled Russian intellectuals. Furthermore, the 20th century’s worldwide trend of exile literature also has an impact on Nabokov’s literary creation. To Nabokov, just as to many 20th century’s exiled writers, exile is a way from the center to the periphery. Like Joyce, Nabokov used "Silence, Exile, Cunning " to " Self-Defense".Nabokov in building the spirit of his writings in exile, while also trying to expand the world of human consciousness, tried to approach the various limits of the human world, his desire not only ever present in the spiritual world within the self-build, but a breakthrough the boundaries between self and the world, into the realm of the more extensive deep. However, as the exiled Russian intellectuals in his novels, Nabokov himself pursued all his life the "other world" which was deep in his heart and was inseparable from his Russian soul. Exiles who he described as their ancestral "spiritual wanderer" in Russian Earth, are looking for the truth and meaning of this world constantly in the suffering.
