Abstract


It is a long cultural process that the human beings start to refuse to marry to the namesake from mixed inhabitants’being lived and married in the beginning. The process stands for the progress that the human beings have made in terms of human civilization. Considering the effects of family love and the descendants’ health, people begin to make it clear that the persons in one family can’t marry to each other. And the concept is not only an ideology but also becomes a realistic rule, which is not only an official law in the feudal age, but also a traditional folk strength and rule that have influences on human beings up to now.As a folk rule, not marrying to the namesake have effective effects on the rural regions in Xiangxi ever since. However, with the continuing penetration of economy, modern legal system and culture and so on, its absolutely specific social position in a certain period has gone forever. Even so, whether as a modern folk rule or a concept, it affects the behavior of the public in the rural area to some extent, and becomes an important factor that people have to think about on the marriage. Both the past generation and the coming generation are struggling on the edge of ideology.This study relies on the existence of rural areas in Western Han system of civil marriage, marriage of the same surname does not exist to maintain power. There are four main research contents or questions:First, how to maintain the civil rules of traditional culture, traditional folk rules in the process of maintaining the kind of society facing a choice. Second, how to treat people rule itself has regional characteristics, the area of civil rule in play what role. Thirdly, the elders in such a small community in how to play the role, how to maintain this role of civil rule. The fourth is, hide in the rural areas of influence.
