Abstract

Generally, ferrocene and its derivatives usually show special properties due to their unique structures. There has been growing interest in their application such as catalysis, combustion-supporting agent, medicine, molecular recognition, electrochemical and biological sensors et. al. Recently, Schiff bases containing a ferrocenyl group have been studied widely, their transition metal complexes can be used as antimicrobial, anticancer drugs with certain physiological activity. Recent research focuses on their synthesis, characterization and bioactivity, there are fewer reports on the other applications such as electroactive sensors. In addition, organotin(IV) complexes containing a ferrocenyl group have been used as neutral carriers for ISEs according to the literatures. Because of the unique stereo structures of these novel compounds and special Lewis acid of central Sn atom, They have always been anion recognition carriers for the analytical determination of some anions, such as salicylate, phosphate, sulfate, chloride, nitrate et. al. The electrodes based on above carriers always show excellent selective porperties with wide linear response range. In this paper, eight Schiff bases containing a ferrocenyl group and two Mannich bases have been reported, their structures have been characterized by elemental analysis, ir spectroscope,1H NMR spectroscope. The main works are as follows:1) 1,1’-diacetylferrocene was synthesized by the reaction of ferrocene with acetyl chloride. Thus, five new Schiff bases containing a ferrocenyl group were given by the reaction of 1,1’-diacetylferrocene with 2-aminothiophenol,4-aminothiophenol, L-cysteine, ethanolamine and 2-aminophenol respectvely. Their structures were characterized by elemental analysis, ir spectroscope,1H NMR spectroscope.2) Two novel Mannich bases containing a ferrocenyl group were synthesized by the condensation reaction of dipcyclohexylamine and diphenylamine with 1,1’-diacetyl-ferrocene. Their structure were characterized by elemental analysis, ir spectroscope, H NMR spectroscope.3) A novel binuclear complex,3-ferrocenyl-3-oxo-propanal tribenzyltin(IV) (TBFOP) was synthesized by the reaction of tribenzyltin (IV) chloride with 3-ferrocenyl-3-oxo-propanal, its structures were characterized by elemental analysis, ir spectroscope,1H NMR spectroscope. The anion response behavior was also discussed by ISEs based on the above carrier.4) Three hexacoordination organotin(IV) complexes (BPDBT, BBABT and BBMBT) have been synthesized and used as neutral carriers for salicylate-selective PVC membrane electrodes respectively. The sensitivity and detection limit of three novel electrodes were reported. While the electrodes based on BPDBT exhibit better properties for salicylate determination.
