Purpose:To observe the clinical efficacy and security of the traditional Chinese medecinein Heart-protecting musk pill(HMP) on patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension(PAH) . Material and method:Adopting randomized non-blinded and parallel controlled trial ,sixty patients with PAH were randomly and equally invided into two groups, the control group and the SBP group . Both received regular treatment for PAH, and with additional HMP 2 pills ,taken Orally three times daily in the SBP groud. They were followed up for 3 months.PAP,6MWD and BNP were detected before and after treatment,and security of three months of HMP was Observed.data is analyzed by spss15.0package.Results:The trial was completed in 95% of the patients,2 patients withdrew in SBP group and 1 patient in the control group;but others for the tolerable therapy ,no obvious adverse reactions occured in the treatment.The total effective rate (82%)in SBP group was obviously higher than that(52%) in control group. At the 1st month and the 3rd month, the pulmonary arterial hypertension(PAH) reduced in different degree in both groups,and the pulmonary arterial hypertension(PAH) in SBP group was obviously lower than that in the control group.At the 3rd month, the pulmonary arterial hypertension(PAH) in the SBP group was still lower than that in the control group,but without statistic significance.At the 3rd month ,six minute walk distance in the SBP group averagely impoved by 21m and it averagely reduced by 1m in the control group. the BNP reduced in both groups after therapy,but without statistic significance.Conclusion:Heart-protecting musk pill(HMP) can effectively reduce pulmonary arterial hypertension(PAH), and the long-term use guaranteed the security of Heart-protecting musk pill(HMP).
