Abstract


Music plays an important role in People’s Daily life. In most cases, the activity of listening to music is not present, but as the main activities to improve learning and work environment. The research for background music influence learning begins 1960s. Memory is the premise to study, memory include instantaneous memory, short-term memory (also called working memory) and long-term memory. Working memory is divided into visual space working memory and verbal working memory. Paging through material, find that the development of visual spatial memory is slower than verbal working memory, because visual spatial memory research methods is limited. At the same time, it also finds that background music for working memory effects are aimed at verbal working memory, and not find relevant research for background music effects visual space working memory. The paper is about background music effects visual space working memory:the influence of music kinds for visual space working memory; the influence of music rhythm for visual space working memory; the influence of background music for people’s visual space working memory who have or not music habits when they studying; the interaction music type, rhythm and music habits on visual space working memory.This experiment is a 7 X 2 design, discusses six kinds of music types and habit affect visual space working memory, and the other group is not playing music. Experimental materials adopt text story pictures which Li Jing (2009) has used, and the text story pictures have been processed. This experiment was compiled by E-prime2.0, and the dates automatically generated on computers. The dependent variable includes picture study time, problems reaction time and problems reaction accuracy rate.The conclusions of experiment as follows:(1) From picture learning time we can know that under music conditions people have good study rate.The control group use significantly longer time to study than the experimental group. At the same time, people spend longer time significantly under slow tempo English songs conditions than under fast tempo light music conditions. People spend longer time significantly under fast tempo English songs conditions than under slow tempo Chinese songs conditions.In background music conditions, people who have music habits when studying and people who without music habits when studying have no significant difference on visual space working memory. Through the descriptive statistics to six kinds of music types and music habit, find that people who have music habits have better results under the condition of fast tempo music, background music has negative influences on people who without music habits. (2)From question probe accuracy rate we can know that different background music has different impacts for question probe accuracy rate. Slow tempo English songs, slow tempo light music and fast tempo Chinese songs are good for people’s accuracy rate. Fast tempo English songs, fast tempo light music and slow tempo Chinese songs are bad for people’s accuracy rate.Under slow tempo English songs, slow tempo light music and fast tempo Chinese songs conditions, people have higher accuracy rate than the control group. At the same time, people have higher accuracy rate under fast tempo Chinese songs conditions than under slow tempo English songs conditions. People have higher accuracy rate under slow tempo English songs conditions than under fast tempo English songs, fast tempo light music and slow tempo Chinese songs conditions. People have higher accuracy rate under slow tempo English songs than control group. Control group have higher accuracy rate than people who under slow tempo Chinese songs.(3)Music kinds and music habits have interaction on question probe accuracy rate. From people who have music habits we can know that people have higher accuracy rate under slow tempo English songs conditions than under slow tempo Chinese songs. People have higher accuracy rate under slow light music conditions than under slow tempo Chinese songs. From people who without music habits we can know that people have higher accuracy rate under slow tempo English songs conditions than under fast tempo light music. Control group have higher accuracy rate than people who under fast tempo light music.(4) From question probe time, we can know that neither the background music nor the music habits has effect on question probe time. Under music conditions there is no significant effect on question probe time.
