Paper-cut reflects the Chinese national temperament and aesthetic orientation from the art of style and content, and it has been one of the most favorite art form loved by people. By the impact of economic globalization, cultural diversity around the world facing unprecedented challenges; At the same time, many of our nation’s own cultural resources are gradually moving away from us, on the one hand the art form of paper-cut is in danger of disappearing, on the other hand It is also unfamiliar with the human beings in modern times. In recent years, with the non-material cultural heritage protection legislation enacted, the state started the rescue activities of the intangible cultural heritage, folk art draw the attention of the community again, including paper-cut.Paper-cut is also affected by modern art, business and other external factors, a growing number of groups involved in the art of the aesthetic and creative team to realize the transformation and application. In order to guide the direction of paper cut development and application, This paper based on an overview of the art of history and regional characteristics, described the paper-cut development status from the aspect of the art overall direction of development, the question emerged out, paper-cut protection and other aspects, summarized the law of the paper-cut transformation in modern times. At the same time, paper-cut how to participate in modern life, modern art and modern design is analysed through art style and interior and landscape design examples, which provides more paths for the art of inheritance and development.
